Confrides Castle
Details: Moderate - 12 km - 4 1/2 hours
Starting point is the 'Partagas', this is a real treat and it is a walk open to most abilities. You make your way up a broad path that zig zags to the Castle Benifato, another 11th Centaury ruin that makes you realise the work that the Moors put into their defence systems, life in the winters must have been bleak for the men that manned this lookout to warn of pirates and enemies.
Continuing the walk under the majestic ridge of the Aitana you return through a narrow trail passing giant boulders an rock fall from the earthquake some 250 years ago.
